Free climbing
Ferentillo (15 km from Terni along the Valnerina Road towards Visso), with its open-air gym and natural free climbing surfaces, established years ago, is the most important venue for free climbing fans from all over Central Italy and elsewhere. There are several climbing routes available on the rocks near the village, where you can either measure your own ability or learn the secrets of this activity from experts with years of experience.

Rowing down the river
In Arrone (10 km from Terni on the Valnerina Road towards Visso), there is a rowing club where you can set out on a fascinating trip along the river, among the green parkland and the stupendous views of medieval villages and surrounding mountains.

Going up and down
Trekking and canyoning are two ways to learn about the Nera Valley mountains “from the inside”. Trekking courses are plentiful and well marked in all the area. Mountain bike tracks often run side by side, and are here in one of their paradise areas, with regards to Central Italy. Then, finally, canyoning, which allows the safe descent from towers and canyons thanks to the help of qualified guides: an exciting and fun experience.
