The Elmo Melonta Park
It embraces an area of 1,154 hectares close to Mount Peglia, untouched from a landscape and faunistic aspect. The park includes the Elmo woods, Mount Melonta and the Elmo, Melonta and Fersinone streams, all with clear, crystal waters. Remarkable the presence of age-old trees, birds of prey, birds and mammals all belonging to the woods. In this area one can go horse-riding and mountain biking. The most important crossed and scheduled track here is the so-called Anello dellElmo (Elmos Ring) which starts from Marrano of Orvieto and goes as far as the top of the Melonta close to Mount Peglia.

The Volcanological Park of San Venanzo
This is an important centre for didactic environmental tourism. The museum is dedicated to the inactive Volcano of the Peglia. The San Venanzo Volcano, about 265,000 years old - but quite young from a geological point of view-allows visitors to enjoy some rare rocks and minerals. The most famous of these is the Venanzite. The visitor centre, equipped for schools, is situated in the historical centre of San Venanzo and provides all the information necessary for a visit to the volcano. The itinerary winds along an enjoyable track about 2 km long, along which you learn about the history of the volcano and among others, admire the remains of the ruins of an old stone quarry testifying the ancient local mining activities.

Selva di Meana Park Allerona
Part of the Mountain Community of Mount Peglia, it stretches for 2,500 hectares. The vegetation is rich and includes, as well as woods and Mediterranean bush, several species of wild orchids. The Villalba park is located here, where villa Cahen, with its splendid Italian garden, can be admired. It is adjacent to the Natural Reserve of Mount Rufero of which it repeats the environmental characteristics. The poorly inhabited territory is crossed by many marked and scheduled nature walks. Among these, the Anello di Allerona (Allerona Ring) which crosses the entire territory of the park.

The Paglia Valley
A union among water and woods, flora and fauna forests teeming with rare species, equipped itineraries immersed in green vegetation, pleasant scenery: the Valley of the Paglia river is a protected area of great environmental value, protected and enhanced by services and equipment for a serene stay. The Paglia river runs through a wide valley floor over which the hilly slopes of the Alfina and the Orvieto cliffs look down.
The last stretch of the river runs into the Tiber river between Orvieto and Baschi, exactly where the ancient inhabitants built the Port of Pagliano. Its most important tributary is the Chiano which flows through a valley of remarkable environmental value affected by the Park of Elmo.

The Tiber and Lake Corbara
The Tiber, the Flavus Tiber guaranteed a privileged network with Rome in ancient times. It also formed the boundary line between the Umbrian and Etruscan civilisations. Just after Todi, the river runs between the charming Furello rovines.
On reaching Corbara, a dam blocks its course, forming a large, artificial reservoir: ideal for fishing, rowing, streaming, pot-holing activities, horse-riding and trekking. The river then flows into Lake Alviano, follows its course through the Amelia district where it receives the Rio Grande, which crosses a territory of enormous natural and landscape value.
