Monti Martani
The Martani Mountain massif is to be found in the centre of Umbria and extends with a regular trend from South to North for about 45 kilometres, between the Provinces of Terni and Perugia. Its boundaries in the east are set in Valle Umbra and Valle del Serra; in the West by the Tiber river valley and the southern part of the Naia; and by the Nera river south of the Terni basin. The Terni versant is the most interesting one. It offers historical archeological and naturalistic excursions and itineraries. Among the former, one which starts from Cesi, 9 kilometres above Terni and then through the medieval villages of Portaria, Macerino and Scoppio and the Speco Francescano dell’Eremita (Franciscan Hermit’s cave), in the ancient Terre Arnolfe. Alternatively, starting from Terni, towards the Valserra and the villages of Rocca San Zenone, Poggio Lavarino and Giuncano. Among the archeological itineraries, that which starts at the Umbrian-Roman city of Carsulae and then climbs up among the slopes of Mount Torre Maggiore, where, at an altitude of 1120 metres, the ruins of two large V century Italic temples can be found. Trekking itineraries are also available.

Marmore Waterfalls
The Marmore Waterfall is not only beautiful to behold. Thanks to the paths created in recent years, the waterfall area is today an environment to be savoured. Access to the paths is possible either from the upper belvedere, in the Campacci di Marmore park (on the road to Rieti from Terni) or from the lower one along the Valnerina Highway, in direction of Visso. Either way, after having paid the entry fee and obtained maps and information at the service centre you may begin to discover the most enchanting corners of the Falls, even reaching the tiers, thanks also to a small gallery, unveiling ponds and rapids hidden by the vegetation.

Lake Piediluco
Navigation on Lake Piediluco enables you to discover all its most hidden secrets. This made easy today by means of a convenient house-boat service, with or without a guide. This way you can cross the lake from the village to the echo beach where you can hear the famous acoustic phenomenon, which can repeat an entire hendecasyllable, or where you can relax in the shade of the luxuriant vegetation and enjoy the wonderful panorama. Or you may follow the flow of the Velino, which is navigable in parts, towards Greccio. The environment bordering the lake may be better appreciated thanks to a number of tracks that climb to the surrounding hills, like the one that leads to the Albornozian fortress that looks down over the village.
